On visual minus - device
Visual studies in general as well as visual semiotics in particular have, in the
last decade shifted their analytical focus from culture related and linguistic fields to
purely psychological, neuro-biological and cybernetic prospects, following the most
popular up to date disciplines. Some fundamental and trans-disciplinary tools and
concepts at the same time had been left behind in-depth research, while maintaining
its important languages and textual inner- and inter-structures. Hence, the minusdevice
as one of the most important concepts of the Tartu-Moscow school toolkit, has
never been considered in terms of its application to visual language or to a functional
combination of visual and verbal languages as a complement of each other, while
visual minimalism and the visual minus-device are often treated as the same expressive
mod
Graafiliselt redutseeritud kujutised kui masinnÀgemise disaini vahend: semiootiline lÀhenemine
VĂ€itekirja elektrooniline versioon ei sisalda publikatsiooneKĂ€esolevas vĂ€itekirjas modelleeritakse redutseeritud arhitektuuriga graafiliste kujutiste (RPA â Reduced Pictorial Architecture) vĂ”imalikke kasutusviise keeruliste ja abstraktsete mĂ”isteliste kategooriate representeerimisel. Tehisintellekti arendus on vĂ”imatu ilma masinnĂ€gemise kui arvutite peamise vastuvĂ”tukanali uuringuteta ja semiootiline lĂ€henemisnurk antud probleemile avab uusi vĂ”imalusi masinnĂ€gemise instrumentide vĂ€ljatöötamisel. TĂ€napĂ€eval on masinnĂ€gemise disaini uuringud ja arendustöö koondunud peamiselt neuro- ja biomehaanika ja teiste nö tĂ€ppisteaduste valdkonda. Semiootika ja eelkĂ”ige visuaalsemiootika kaasamine vĂ”imaldab teoreetiliselt mĂ”testada ja praktiliselt teostada graafiliselt redutseeritud kujutiste disaini strateegiat, mis analĂŒĂŒsib vĂ€ljendus- ja sisuplaani, formaalsete ja semantiliste elementide kombinatoorikat. RPA-d kĂ€sitletakse kui teatud mĂ€rgitĂŒĂŒpi, milles teadete edastamise ja nende tĂ”lgendamise mehhanism vĂ€ljub kujutise sisese plastilise keele ja kitsa semantilise konteksti raamest.This dissertation attempts to modeling plausible application of reduced pictorial images that can be called as RPA (Reduced Pictorial Architecture) on practical complications of abstract and complex categories representation through simplified visual structures. This segment of pictorial semiotics can be used as one of research and development instruments in the field of machine vision development. The development of artificial intelligence is impossible without research in the field of computer vision as one of the main channels of perception. In fact, in recent years in such studies, more consideration has been given to neuro- and bio - mechanics, as well as to other precise disciplines. Semiotics, and, above all, visual semiotics, unfortunately are not at this stage of the research, essentially important mechanisms in the field, although an applied semiotic approach to this issue seems to be very productive. As one of certain meaning-making activation tools, the reduced images proposed above, can be considered.
